Trooper is an intentionally designed dog ball that takes every millimetre into account as to how dogs actually chew, see, chase and play. From its material composition to our precision squeak system that only squeaks when our dogs chew on it just right - we can confidently say that Trooper raises the standard for how dog toys should be designed and made. 

Trooper is made from natural rubber tapped from the Hevea brasiliensis tree - no cutting the tree down required. Color is infused directly into the rubber, not painted on, so there's nothing to wear off on your furniture, your hands, or your dog's mouth. Dishwasher safe when playtime gets messy.

Tropper Blue & Trooper Yellow? Why these two colors?

When designing Trooper, we were surprised by how many major dog toy brands seemed to overlook a simple question:
Can the dog actually see it?

Most dog toys are made in colors that look great to humans, but very often don't translate to how dogs visually experience the world.

Dogs have dichromatic vision, meaning they see a more limited color range than we do. Their strongest visual range sits around blue and yellow, which is why Trooper uses specific Pantone shades selected to fall within the peak range dogs can visually pick up and see for what it is.

Colors outside that stronger visual range - like red, orange, green, purple, teal, burgundy, and many mixed or highly saturated colors — may look bright to us, but to dogs they can appear muted, often closer to a very dull yellow, shades of gray, or muddy tones.

Toss that into grass, dirt, sand, leaves, or low light, and suddenly that “bright” dog toy is doing a lot less work and blending in with the environment.

What is Trooper made of and is it safe on my dog's teeth?

Trooper’s DuraFlex Rubber is made from high-grade natural rubber derived from the Hevea brasiliensis tree. We selected it for its resilient flex: tough without being rigid, flexible under bite pressure and springy enough to keep the bounce alive.

Trooper does not incorporate plastic, nylon, or foam in its material construction, nor is it topically painted or coated with color. Trooper’s color is built directly into the rubber compound itself, not applied as a surface coating that can leach, chip or peel, in your dogs mouth.

And Yes, Trooper is safe for your dog’s teeth when used as intended. Unlike hard plastic or nylon toys, Trooper is designed to compress under bite pressure, giving it a more forgiving mouth-feel for everyday fetch, chewing, carrying, and tug-style play while still being built to handle the chaos your dog decides to unleash :)

Love the idea of not having an annoying squeaker - How does it work?

Trooper was designed to solve one of the most annoying parts of squeaker toys: the nonstop noise...

Most squeaker balls activate the moment they’re compressed. Trooper takes a more controlled approach. Inside the ball is a one-way squeaker system paired with a side air chamber that helps regulate when the squeak happens.

When your dog bites down and blocks or restricts that chamber, air is directed through the main squeaker to create the sound. When the chamber stays open, some of that air escapes instead, making Trooper less likely to squeak from every light chew, drop, or random bump.

The result is a more intentional squeak response - one your dog has to grip, bite, and work for. More reward. Less noise. Yeah, you're welcome :)

What size Trooper Ball should I get for my dog?

Trooper comes in two sizes:

2" Trooper Dog Ball
Best for small to small/medium dogs (up to 25lbs)

3" Trooper Dog Ball
Best for medium to large dogs (25lbs - 100lbs+)

If your dog is close to the size cutoff, has a larger mouth, or tends to play rough, we recommend sizing up to the 3" Trooper.
